Innovative Metals Processing Centre – New Website Launch

The Innovative Metals Processing Centre* is an initiative of the successful collaboration between The University of Sheffield and Boeing. Operating under the umbrella of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, IMPC have developed a world-class centre of excellence in modern methods of manufacturing components in metals and new materials.
As a capacity building centre, the industrially focused IMPC concentrates on processing titanium and other high value alloys using advanced powder metallurgy as well as process development for the powders sector.
Supporting companies within the South Yorkshire region, they are available to help companies bid for and win contracts with major international companies, helping them to forge and secure their future in the region.
To continue the growth of this capacity building centre the existing website which will be re-launched at the beginning of April to allow interaction between IMPC and it’s existing and potential cliental. The website will give examples of projects the experienced IMPC staff have previously worked on and will keep clients up to date on the latest news and events which are taking place.
Dr Iain Todd, Director of IMPC said: ‘The re-launch of the existing IMPC website is a great way to communicate the novel approach of our innovative production processes to our target audience’. IMPC is of interest to companies in the aerospace, automotive, and medical sectors who wish to use the newest equipment and expertise in the latest state of the art production technology and manufacturing of new material developments.
